Other Details to Note

There may be guests staying in the unit below you so please keep your shoes off and avoid loud TV and other sounds in consideration. Please note that it can sometimes get very NOISY here depending on the season and time of year! We unfortunately have no control over this, but due to the popularity of the area and our prime location right on the Alki strip next to the beach, the area can sometimes get quite lively and busy during the weekend and especially in the summer. It is not all the time, and it is sometimes hard to predict, but if you need absolute peace and quiet or are sensitive to noise, this might not be the stay for you. Unfortunately, it sort of comes with the location and is not something we can control. Also please note that during popular summer weekends, Alki Beach can get very crowded and street parking can become challenging.

Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

Alki Beach is unique in Seattle. One of the few sandy beaches in the area, and perhaps the most popular beach in the summer. With plenty of shared bikes and scooters for rent, jogging/biking path, fire pits, picnic tables and a bathhouse/art studio, this beach is popular year-round. Verdict: Alki Beach is awesome! Plus, it is a Seattle City park, so the public has access. Most beaches in Washington State are classified as private property, so having this amazing beach park open to everyone is truly special. Alki Beach Park is also part of the renowned "Whale Trail", a series of sites to view whales and other marine mammals from shore along the Pacific Coast. The best time to see orca whales from Alki is during the fall and winter, when the southern resident pods return to this area. West Seattle itself is also a gem. The birthplace of modern Seattle, West Seattle has always had a small town vibe due to the fact that it is on the other side of the Puget Sound from the downtown hustle/bustle/chaos, but is easily accessible by Water Taxi, bus, car, ride share, etc.

Guest Access

There is an electronic lock at the front door to the building and each unit has its own lock box with key. Each unit is completely private and separate, but share laundry facilities, backyard, and front entrance. There is plenty to explore within walking distance. Alki Beach Park is an active place with lots of cafes, restaurants, bike/kayak/paddle boards rentals but can be serene and peaceful if you'd like it to be. Open fires are allowed on the beach where people have bonfires & Barbecues. You've also got all the ride share scooters & bikes just across the street to explore the beauties of Alki Beach from the 2.5 mile paved jogging/bike path. A fantastic relaxing experience. Also, there are plentiful options to get to downtown Seattle, including buses, and a free shuttle to the West Seattle Water Taxi which can whisk you straight across Elliott Bay to the Seattle waterfront, a no-car/traffic stress-free way to the visit the city. That same free shuttle can also take you to the two main centers of West Seattle, the Alaska Junction and the Admiral Junction with grocery stores, many more restaurants, and shopping.

We enjoyed our stay very much! I had booked another property of Michael’s for the wrong date and he was super quick to accommodate me by connecting me to another property that was available. It was a huge relief for that process to be as easy as it was and for them to be so flexible. It’s a small space but was perfect for my husband and I. We loved the vibe, walkability, and great cafes in the area. The space was clean and had everything we needed!
